My Trip to New York
My trip to New York was awesome the moment I landed at JFK airport. I proceeded to take a shuttle to my hotel in Soho and got my first glimpses of the city on my way there. I saw the NY Mets’ stadium in Queens on my way there. As I got to my hotel, I checked in and I took a stroll through the streets. I proceeded to take a cab to Times Square where I met up with a friend and was amazed by the surroundings.
I decided to go into the Toys R Us there. It was very big and had plenty of gadgets. The big, robotic dinosaur drew my attention the most since I am a big dinosaur fan. Furthermore, while on my trip, I also got a glimpse of the Empire State building from the top. It was the most amazing view I’ve ever seen. In addition to that, I went to Yankee stadium, the new one, to view them play the Red Sox (Yankees won). The new ball park was amazing (minus the expensive food/souvenirs).
I was also able to visit the Wax museum. They had many of the world’s most famous people ranging from The Rock to Eminem. I also took a stroll through central park and it’s by far the biggest park I’ve been to. When it came to food, I ate at a spot called Johnny Rockets; their burgers are so great that I’m surprised I’m yet to see one of their locations open here in California. Overall, my trip was amazing and I’m looking forward to visiting New York City again. (Travel story submitted by Rome)

new york is a nice place to visit, it makes you feel that the life is always moving, people are always acting in a manner that makes you feel there is no time to brush your hair.
Try the view from rockerfeller sometime – you get a great view of the empire state building
That is a beautiful picture that you took of 42nd street. I live in New York and often visit the area. Did you go to the South Street Seaport. It is very nice and refreshing.
That’s a great photo! There is nothing like seeing places first hand. I hope to one day visit New York City. Your blog post revived that desire!
I visited New York as a youth and I have an aunt that resides in New York. What a high energy and fast paced place with a lot of fun and exciting attractions!
i visited New York with my family couple of years back. i just fell in love with the city and i consider my visit to New York my best vacation till date.
a great picture showing the advancements of the world and for sure all will love to visit the place again after seeing this picture
The statue of Liberty the iconic symbol of USA, awesome.
Long-short view of Manhattan bridge is quite cool in New york.

i like new york very much. coz this city has no sleeping hours.
After reading all the comments I got more eager to visit newyork city. I am trying to plan as soon as possible to meet New York.
This just makes me regret moving away from NY a few years past – but it also helps to remind me of how easy it is to love the fast-paced spirit of the city
just had a couple of friends visiting NY last week for spring break. Can’t wait to hear their stories and plan my trip.
Thanks for the reminder. New York is a great place to visit. So much to do and great food. I cannot resist the chocolate covered pretzels.
Wow! New York sounds amazing! I wish I could have lived in that amazing place. Your trip sounded awesome and astounding.
I haven’t been to New York City in over 3 years but your blog post made me realize how much I miss it! There is so much to do there and the city has such a great vibe to it; looking forward to visiting again hopefully in the next year.
That’s really cool!
Someday I will travel to New York too. It seems like an awesome place to visit!
Great photograph!
I’ve always wanted to go to NYC and go to the wax museum or go to the top of the empire state building and feel like I was in Sleepless in Seattle.
NYC has always been one of my top spots to visit and I hope to next year. This story has inspired me to go. We always order a basket of Zabar’s every year – can’t wait to visit this city.
The show “Sex and the City” definitely sparked my interest in New York City. I was able to check out Times Square at night and there is nothing like it! So many lights and so much energy were coming from this place. I still want to check out a show on Broadway and see the Statue of Liberty. I want to check out the other boroughs since each borough has so much to offer.
There truly is nothing like that city. Something new to do everyday, it’s impossible to be bored.
If you ever get back to NYC, be sure to wander through Grand Central Station. It’s not just another train station… it’s an architectural wonder! It’s gorgeous. Be sure, also, to go down to the bottom level and stop by for lunch–there are some great restaurants down there!
I was born and raised in NY but I can never get tired of the sights in the city. The wax museum was a lot of fun, but that walk is a killer! I’m glad you had fun.
NYC is place that everyone should visit. New Yorkers love their city and for a good reason. The population is a mix of ethnicities with a open air about them. If you are a foodie there is something on every corner to enjoy. It is such a classic American city.
New York is an amazing city with so much to do! If you ever go back there, I’d suggest doing the Top of the Rock Tour early in the morning–it’s peaceful and the views of the city are breathtaking!
What’s not to love about New York City? The lights are always bright, the atmosphere is bustling, and of course, the shopping is beyond compare. I’ve been there a few times in my life and every time I leave I’m already waiting for my next trip back.
New York…the city that never sleeps ! What great place to visit. On my last visit, I went to be a part of the studio audience at NBC studios, for one of my favorite shows: Saturday Night Live. Afterwards, I enjoyed walking through the financial district, Wall Street, Chinatown, Central Park (its huge!), and the surrounding boroughs of Brooklyn and Staten Island. Everybody walks there, so wear good, comfortable shoes. Museums, restaurants and delis, NY style pizza, Time Square, Rockefeller center, shopping, sightseeing, wow…so much to do. I recommend staying longer than a couple days to have enough time.
Ok, now you are making me jealous of this picture! I have always wanted to visit New York, and have had several chances, but never have went. I have always wanted to check out the big places that we see on TV, such as Rockefeller, Time Square, and Central Park..just to make a couple. Oh, and of course, the Statue of Liberty! Can’t go to NY without seeing that lady!!
I love New York! I grew up there, but I still go back occasionally for a trip when I have the time. It’s always changing and it’s such a fun experience.
I haven’t been to New York City in a couple of years, but a couple of sightseeing things that are must do include the riding the Circle Line Cruise around Manhattan, buying a ticket to a Broadway show, visiting Times Square and the Empire State Building, and visiting the museums uptown. The restaurants on the Upper East Side are a lot of fun, too, when you’re tired from all of the day’s activities.
I spent a weekend in New York City a few years ago with my mom. I loved riding around the city in a cab and catching the subway. The buildings are amazing and we were there around Christmas the people ice skating and the big Christmas tree looked straight out of so many movies that I have seen.
I live in Syracuse NY and I always wanted to go to New York City. So one day me and my boyfriend got into our truck and we drove there. It took us about 4 hours and when we arrived we couldn’t believe how different it was. So much noise and so many people walking around. It was amazing. We got to go to Time Square and went to a little restaurant and ate a lovely lunch. We then went and got on a ferry and we were on the deck we had the perfect view of The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. And at that moment he turned to me and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I looked up and all I could see was the skyscrapers and bridges of Lower Manhattan and i looked back at him and said yes. Everyone started clapping for us. It was the best moment of my life. I LOVE NY!
I think that of the times I visited New York City, early spring was great. There weren’t many tourist competing, you could get cold snaps, but the city is the freshest smelling at that time of year.
There is always something amazing to do in New York and just having the word New York in the title makes it that much more special!! No matter the time of day, no matter the time of the year, New York has what you want!
I visited New York many years ago, but I would like to go again. During my first visit they had a freak blizzard that shut down everything for a day or so, so getting around was not easy! Had a great time anyway. Next time I think I’ll go at a different time of year, though
New York is hands down the best city in the world. Great food, so much to see, so much to do. My best tip to everyone is ride the subway. It’s not that scarey, millions of real New Yorkers do it every day and it the fastest, most economical way to travel. My restaurant tip – Da Andrea on 13th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues.
It sure is good to read about NY.
I love to travel and was always wondering what it was like to visit NY.
After reading about it now I think I will plan a trip this summer.
I sure hope that I have as much fun as everyone here, I will keep you posted.
I loved our trip to New York City 2 summers ago! I had never been, and it turned out to be a really amazing family trip! We, too, enjoyed the Toys R Us, especially the gigantic ferris wheel. I’m glad we took plenty of time to explore, but I know we could do much, much more.
A friend who lives in NYC clued us in to a great scenic boat ride. A jet taxi , seating about 30 people. leaves a pier close to South Street Seaport and goes by Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty to an Ikea in Brooklyn. It is free. Hours are posted, it doesnt run late at night. When we do a gfs get together at her place, a walk down thru the Wall Street district to the Ikea shuttle is followed by the taxi cruise to Ikea… and 4-5 women in a store with a coffee shop and lots of furniture and home furnishings, whats not to like?
I always wanted to see New York. Many people have different experiences in New York but most of them are good. My uncle went to New York and enjoyed every minute there he said that there are so many great things to do and see. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed New York, I will also keep in mind to see the big Toy’s R Us store when I go.
I’ve been to NYC once a long time ago … and to be completely honest I really didn’t like it. I thought it was too hectic, loud, messy, and kinda scary. Your description made the city sound fun! I like that you were able to see all the great views through the busy streets.
I went to New York for the first time a few years ago, and I really enjoyed visiting Chinatown the most. I don’t think I’d ever live in New York, but I will definitely visit again.
As implied in the story, there are a million simple things to do in the city. As a simple boy from the Planins, I found that I was best off to drop all pretense and just be a tourist, so I reminded myself to look up. It’s like being on the floor of a busy canyon. The crowds and the pace and the noise are kind of intoxicating.
Of all of my travels, New York was by far one of my top destinations. I literally cried when it was time to leave. I love it for the amazing art both visual and otherwise. My favorite time to visit is during the Christmas holiday season as the lights and hustle and bustle leave me in awe. I was only able to visit for a short time but I look forward to returning and discovering more of new York’s hidden gems.
You never run out of things to do in New York. I hope next time you can get to Queens and check out the fairgrounds there and Citifield, and Louis Armstrong House and so much more. I love Manhattan but NYC consists of five boroughs and they’re ALL awesome!
Who doesn’t love New York? I’ve never been to Johnny Rockets though. Whenever I’m in Manhattan, I can’t pass up the street vendors selling Sish Tawook Gyros. I could live on street food and New York has the BEST street food ever!
